boo for spending too much money

It is literally impossible to go to Walmart and spend less than 40 dollars, and somehow you still don't get everything you need.

OK well its summertime now, so I guess that means its time for another post to last me the rest of the season, right??  right!

I'm in Tulsa for a week, which is a nice change of pace I guess.  All I want to do here is clean/organize or play video games.  Strangely, I've yet to do either in the 30 hours that I've been here.  I just haven't had any downtime yet, other than for sleeping.  That should change tomorrow though, hopefully.

Whitney moved out yesterday and I can't describe how discouraging it is to know that her and I will not live in the same city again for, if all goes according to plan, a year.  *sad smilie here*  Not to be sappy, but it's only been a day and it sucks so far.  I'm sure Steph can relate with me on this one...does it get any better??

Does it seem like every semester flies by faster and faster than the previous one?  It really feels like three weeks ago that 2nd semester was starting and now its gone.  School went well though, everything above a C (which I know isn't great for a lot of you but for me it's noteworthy).

Man, this was a crappy post for the summer.  I might have to post again somewhat soon, just so this isn't the first post you see when you click on my journal.

schoolsie

yay for school starting!  That's how happy I am that I actually see friends again, even at the expense of homework and classes.  Classes shouldn't be too bad this year, it's my first semester not taking a math class!  Sadly, I still have two more math classes to take eventually.  And I think if I add a third math class somewhere, I could end up with a math minor...but I really don't think it's worth it.  Experimental Design will be my toughest class this semester, cause Shehab is supposed to be a devil of a grader even though she's really nice in person.  Operations Research should be interesting, and making stuff in DMP II lab will be fun too.  And Electrical Circuits might actually be okay, the teacher is pretty cool (in a nerdy electrical engineer sort of way).  The only bad thing about my schedule is that I have huge three-hour breaks smack-dab in the middle of my day, four days a week.  I guess it'll end up being a good time to do homework and catch up on reading and stuff, but it still kinda sucks.

wikipedia is amazing

I literally spent three hours of my day today just reading articles on Wikipedia.  I don't even know what got me started.  But once I got to Stephen Colbert, there was just so much other stuff to read about.  I read about:

Colbert Report, truthiness, The Daily Show, Jon Stewart, Steve Carrell, The Office, Anchorman, the "Frat Pack" (which consists of Will Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Luke and Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, and Jack Black), Jason Bateman (I refrained from reading about Arrested Development only because I had already read it before), Craig Kilborn, Conan O'Brien, Get Smart (did you know they're making a Get Smart movie?!? I'm so excited!  starring Steve Carrell!), Don Adams, Marlo Thomas, the Ambigously Gay Duo (did you know they were voiced by Steve Carrell and Stephen Colbert?? I had no idea), TV Funhouse, the X-Presidents, and who knows what else that I've forgotten already.  The point is wikipedia r0x.

I downloaded the Blue October cd the other day because my brother wanted to listen to it.  I didn't really have any interest in it but I did it anyway cuz I'm a good brother like that.  The cd turned out to be surprisingly not bad though.  A lot more upbeat and rhythmic than I had expected after hearing "Hate Me."  One of the tracks even features Imogen Heap and it keeps getting stuck in my head.  Really pretty much everything we listened too while working helped pass the time except Depeche Mode.  But Duran Duran, Lifehouse, and Collective Soul all make for good building music.

I'll be in Norman in two days!
